Watching The Corkscrew Job and just ...

Eliot trusting Parker and Hardison enough to go into a situation where he's about to have no oxygen. He would hear over the comms that they're facing down henchmen who are trying to stop them. He doesn't know how long it'll take for them to get air flow happening again.

But there's an innocent person to protect and he has faith in his partners. Faith enough to willingly risk his life time and time again - not just in this instance, but all the others we see over the course of the show. Because Eliot knows that Parker and Hardison will do whatever it takes to protect him, just as he protects them.

There's just something so profound about not even having enough air to draw breath - but it doesn't matter, because you know your partners are out there, fighting to get that next breath to you. And it might take longer than expected. It might not go smoothly, hell, it might not even work at all. But it doesn't matter because your faith in these people is greater than the instincts screaming for oxygen.

Eliot can't breathe without them. But he's used to that - he's been living this way for years already. So he holds his breath and trusts.

I can't stop thinking about Blade saying gifts are unfamiliar.

And I can't stop thinking about Kafka and Silver Wolf, hearing that, and making it a mission to bring him gifts whenever they travel somewhere for their script - even if he's there with them. About the confusion in his eyes when they steal buy something and turn right around to hand it to him.

About his room starting out completely empty except for the bare minimum necessities, a few spare clothes and what he needs to take care his Shard Sword, but filling up with little trinkets and gifts over time. Clothes and jewelry and perfume from Kafka and posters, figures and plushies from Silver Wolf. About them also bringing food back, expensive specialties swiped from a restaurant and the weirdest option they could spot in a lone vending machine, a category of gifts that doesn't leave anything behind (except the photos they both take of the three of them eating together, or of the faces he makes when Silver Wolf manages to trick him into trying a suspicious snack while he's distracted with polishing his weapon).

About Kafka spending hours finding clothes and jewelry she thinks would suit him, because that's her love language. She gets him makeup too, refusing to let his good looks go to waste. She knows he can't put it on himself, they both do, and he doesn't care for his appearance enough otherwise - but he'll let her do his makeup for him anyway, because she enjoys it, and because he finds it soothing.

About Silver Wolf also buying him clothes, but the ones she gets aren't his style at all, and just barely his size. She gets them for him, but just so she can steal them right back - her love language is quality time, and she fills Blade's room with gifts she can borrow along with a moment of his day. It still counts as a gift, she insists, practically swimming in an oversized jacket she swiped from his closet.

About how in another life, Yingxing gave gifts to the people he loved and in this one, Blade receives them from those who love him.

Sanji and Usopp get together first. They are very lovey dovey and sappy because Sanji is lovey dovey and sappy and Usopp loves it, gets very swept away with it, and does his best to reciprocate. This shit is practically the bane of Zoro's existence. And that's not even getting into the pet names.

Some time later, he's got the realization that oh, huh, he likes Usopp. And oh, ugh, he likes the Cook too. And he might lament his own feelings about it, but eventually he tells them and then Zoro has two boyfriends.

And then one morning, Usopp comes to breakfast looking incredibly sleepy, and casually gives a "Morning, babe" to Zoro before taking his seat.

And Zoro finds he likes that. He really really likes it. And he's definitely showing it on his face somehow because soon after Sanji is ranting and raving about Zoro being an absolute hypocrite, because how dare he complain all this time about Sanji and Usopp calling each other honey and cher and darling, when he was just as bad as them-

Usopp is more awake now and trying not to laugh, for Zoro's sake. Zoro is very red and keeps trying to interrupt Sanji, but Sanji just talks louder over him. Zoro would start a fight, but Sanji hadn't finished serving breakfast yet and his arms are full of plates so he's forced to suffer.

OT3 Headcanons Nobody Asked For: dancing!

I seriously love that in the great big fancy party (promise to Violetta paid off, check!) in "An Entertainment in Londinium", the concept of "who dances together" and "who leads" in a formal partnered court dance is completely ungendered. The women don't have to dance backwards in high heels unless they want to, and "who leads" is pretty much based on vibes, politics, and whatever the dancers are most comfortable with.

So, in a future where I have assumed the OT3 and a profusion of parties with dancing...how do the Triumvirate handle "who leads"?

Gil mostly leads whenever he's dancing with either of his partners, just on the basis of that's how he learned to do it, and he's taller than both of them (don't fight me on this). I'm not an expert here, but I feel like these sorts of dances are very geared towards the taller person (traditionally male) leading and their partner following. But he's perfectly willing and able to follow if that's what the vibes are in the moment.

Agatha and Tarvek, on the other hand, are playing a whole game where they trade off the lead, not just between dances but between measures. Constantly swapping back and forth, throwing in an extra step or spin whenever they feel like it, and suddenly if Tarvek was leading before, Agatha is now. A minute more and they've switched back; another ten seconds and they've reversed again. They're both making up the timing as they go along and very coordinated about it. They cue off each other in subtle signals - Gil can see them, but most people can't - and never miss a step. It makes a choreographed set of movements more engaging for busy Sparky minds, and confuses the whole political narrative in entertaining ways. They are playing. This is fun.

They tend to get a little extra room on the dance floor. Not because they're going to bump into anyone - they know where they are, and they know where you are, too - but because of how random it feels to everyone else. You know someone is going to be in that space of the dance, but whether it's going to be Agatha or Tarvek is anyone's guess.

It unnerves people and they think that's funny too.

It's also very eye-catching, and more than one partygoer has caught Gil stopping just to stare at them, not in jealousy but...just to watch.
